Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that the Centre would upgrade the facilities in Trauma Care Unit at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) with a cost of Rs 100 crore. Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Azad said the Centre, in principle, has decided to provide better health care facilities for patients in the Burns Wards at NIMS.
Apart from this, he said the government would make NIMS a premier institution in the country on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS).
He said the government would also allocate Rs 125 crore to set up Regional Institute at Visakhapatnam and Kurnool districts and assured the Andhra Pradesh Government that the Centre would allot more funds in the ensuing Union Budget for the State’s health care. UNI
