New Delhi, October 18: Miffed at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi accusing the NDA government in Bihar of not spending Central welfare funds, BJP today reacted strongly saying the Centre was showing “king-emperor” syndrome while giving away grants to the state.
“The way in which Sonia Gandhi and respected Manmohan Singh have tried to show that they have obliged Bihar by giving grants only reflects a king-emperor syndrome. We thoroughly condemn this,” BJP spokesperson Tarun Vijay said.
The Rajya Sabha MP alleged that the statements of Singh and Gandhi gave the impression that India is still a monarchy.
“It seems there is a monarchy in India. The Centre is giving Khairaat (alms). This was unheard of even during the Mughal Sultanate or Tughlaq’s rule,” Vijay said.
