In the wake of TRS MPs turning volte face on Polavaram Ordinance in Parliament, the Centre sent related bill to President Pranab Mukherjee, according to information.
The Bill is likely to reach the Parliament only after the President expresses his opinion. The TRS MPs have raised objections in Parliament during its first day on Monday for tabling the bill related to Polavaram Ordinance without the consent of the President. They also contended that the bill cannot be made into an Act unless the President gives his opinion or final word. The Polavaram Ordinance is aimed at transferring seven tribal mandals to AP post bifurcation much to the chagrin of Telangana State, all political parties in Telangana and Tribals in Khammam to be effected. With this the Union Home Ministry is said to have sent the bill to the President. The TRS plans to challenge it in court in this regard. (NSS)
