Jammu, February 22: In a bid to give fillip to tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre has sanctioned two border tourism projects in the state.
“This is the first time when the Union government has sanctioned two border tourism projects at Chamblyal and Suchetgarh in Samba and Jammu districts,” tourism minister Rigzin Jora said today after laying the foundation stone for development of the Baba Chamblyal shrine at Ramgarh border, 40 km from here.
The development of the Baba Chamblyal shrine as a tourist destination would be done at a cost of Rs 1.60 crore, he said.
It will be a symbol of friendship between India and Pakistan because of its location on the zero line, he said.
