Central government has sanctioned 355 model schools for the state of which the construction of 313 schools is nearing completion. Answering the question posed by MLA G Veera Siva Reddy in the state assembly, Secondary Educaiton Minister K Parthasarthi informed this. He told that centre has sanctioned model schools in backward mandals, blocks in the state. 355 schools will be constructed in the first phase while the project amount is Rs. 1072 crore.
