Centre released massive funds to State, but KCR did nothing for poor: Smriti Irani

Hyderabad: Union minister Smriti Irani has said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sanctioned Rs 80 lakh to each village under Rural Employment Assurance Scheme for providing employment to laborers.

Addressing an election meeting at Peddapalli Godavarikhani junior college grounds, Smriti Irani said the Centre has released Rs 55,000 crore for providing 100 days’ work to poor labourers in Telangana State under Employment Guarantee Scheme. The Prime Minister also provided 20 lakh gas connections free of cost to poor women and sanctioned 2.3 lakh houses for people living in rural villages.

She alleged that the KCR government did nothing for people of Telangana during its four-and-a-half year rule.
