Union Environment Minister Prakash Javedkar has stated that the Central Government was ready to play the role of a mediator to resolve the differences between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.
Javedkar, who was in the city to participate in the campaign for N Ramchander Rao, BJP’s MLC candidate for Graduates Constituency, told media persons on Sunday that the Centre has been doing justice to both the Telugu speaking States. Admitting that there some contentious issues between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he said those issues could be sorted out through negotiations and the Centre was ready to mediate those talks if the States agree.
The Union Minister announced that he would visit Hyderabad for a day between 26th and 29th March to discuss the projects of Telangana which are pending due to clearance from his ministry. He said that the Union Ministry of Environment has hastened the clearance of several projects which were kept pending by the previous regimes. He said that the processes have been simplified for early clearances. Citing an instance, he said that the power project in Nalgonda district was cleared within few days.
