Even as the Telangana State government has expedited its flagship programs like Mission Bhagiratha (MB) and Mission Kakatiya (MK), the Centre has come in for praising the same.
Arvind Panagariya, Vice-Chairman of NITI Ayog, has reportedly appreciated these two flagship programs of the Telangana government and advised other States to replicate. Panagaria is expected to make a visit to Hyderabad on April 12, it is learnt. He is learnt to have praised the State Government for trying to provide safe waters to every household and irrigate one crore acres in future through Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya respectively. Since laying pipelines for supplying potable waters to every household of the poor is a good idea and restoration of lakes in villages will increase crop yield in villages and rise in groundwater table, the other States can replicate such programs, he reportedly said.
