Rajya Sabha member Nandi Ellaiah on Monday stated that the decision on Telangana State was delayed as the government has to take the UPA Allies into confidence.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, he said that Centre needs some more time to take a decision on the bifurcation of State as it has to convince its allies and find ways and means to resolve the issue. He appealed to all leaders and youth, particularly the students, to observe restraint until the Centre announces a decision on the separate statehood. He advised the students not to resort to extreme steps as it might complicate the issue further.
Even the Congress in-charge of State affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad appealed to all leaders to wait for the decision on Telangana as stakeholders has to make their stand clear on it, he pointed out.
Nandi Ellaiah thanked Minister of State for Railways Muniyappa and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for proposing to lay a new railway line with a cost of Rs 791.6 crore from Manoharabad to Kothapalli stations via Siddipet covering Rangareddy, Medak and Karimnagar districts.
