Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiran Rijiju said that the Centre was keen on modernisation of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Speaking to media persons after the Dikshant Parade at National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) at Shamirpet here on Sunday, the union minister said that CISF has been playing a kery role in providing security to airports, nuclear establishments, major dams, national institutions and also during incidents of communal riots. He said that the Centre would strengthen the agency further.
Earlier, the minister took salute of the combined passing out parade of 25th batch of Assistant Commandant (Constable/Fire), 8th batch of Assistant Commandant – Department Entry, 40th batch of SI Executive and first batch of Lady SI Executives at Fire Drill Ground of FSTI. CISF Director General Arvind Ranjan and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. (INN)
