The Centre on Monday night postponed its plan to introduce the Telangana bill in the Rajya Sabha after objections were raised that a draft law accompanied with financial aspects can not be introduced in the Upper House of the Parliament.
The government was also forced to reconsider its position after facing strong resistance from the anti-Telangana voices across the political spectrum. The government may instead introduce the bill in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
The govt faced objections on legal grounds and was forced to rethink its plan Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to meet BJP leaders on Tuesday to canvass support for Telangana and other parliamentary business issues.
According to the TDP, the likely alliance could gain much in the region if the bill is not passed.
