Centre grants Rs 1,200 crores to Telangana under National Health Mission: Dattatraya

Union Minister for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatreya today inspected the CGHS Wellness Center at Himayathnagar and spoke officials about the functioning of Wellness Centers in the city.

 Addressing the officials, Dattatraya said the Centre was giving top priority to Health and Education and allocated Rs 1,200 crore to Education and Health departments of Telangana State. He explained that Rs 72 crore was sanctioned to Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal and Rs 72 crore for RIMS, Adilabad. He also said the Centre has agreed to set up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Telangana State.

The Union minister also said the NDA government was providing financial help for establishing kidney dialysis centers in every district in the country. Keeping in view the lack of doctors and experienced government doctors, he said the Centre has increased the retirement age of doctors by three years. He also said there are 1.5 lakh beneficiaries under CGHS in Hyderabad City. There are 4,000 beneficiaries under the CGHS Wellness Center, Himayathnagar. He also said the dispensary will be converted into a polyclinic in the interests of workers.

The Union Minister called upon the people to participate in Swachch Bharat Abhiyan and make the City Clean and Green. Local MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Dr Vijayabhaskar, Additional Director, CGHS, also participated in the event. (NSS)
