Centre gives ‘weightage’ to Hurriyat in talks: BJP

Jammu, November 27: The BJP today accused the Union government of giving “weightage” to separatists without taking into confidence the major political parties and said the Centre was trying to please the Hurriyat Conference under the garb of “quiet diplomacy”.

The party said it was keeping a close watch on the developments concerning Kashmir, particularly in view of “quiet diplomacy”.

“The BJP is keeping a close watch on the recent development in Jammu and Kashmir particularly in view of the quiet diplomacy,” party national general secretary, Ram Lal, told reporters here.

He alleged that the Union Government was trying to please the separatists under the garb of quiet diplomacy.

“BJP is concerned about the security situation and present role of Central government and its initiatives of giving weightage to separatist leadership without taking into confidence the political parties and other organisations.
