Local MP JC Diwakar Reddy here on Thursday slammed the style of functioning of the Centre and State legislatures.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Diwakar Reddy questioned the utility of Parliament when the Centre was not taking note of the advice given by parliamentarians, who have 40 years of experience, for the development of the State during Parliament sessions.
Stating that when their words have no value, Diwakar Reddy said direct election to the post of Prime Minister could be held. He also alleged that the Union government has forgotten about all its promises made on the eve of last general elections.
“I am sorry that I have not been able to do anything about the continued drought situation in the district. The Union Government is not considering any of our (MP’s) requests. The decision and the opinion of the Prime Minister alone seems to matter”, he quipped. He further alleged that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are the only important persons in the country. “Whatever the Prime Minister decides is the rule and what the Chief Minister says is an ‘order’”, he bemoaned. Is development possible if the government allocates Rs 50 crores for each district?, he asked.
Stating that Aam Admi Party leader Kejriwal had fulfilled his election promises in just 45 days after taking charge as chief minister of Delhi Assembly, Diwakar Reddy said the people of Delhi swept away the BJP in the recent elections. (NSS)
