Centre firm on bifurcating State: Pallam Raju

Union Minister M M Pallam Raju today said the intention of the Centre was to divide Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to the media, Pallam Raju said the Centre is going ahead with its plan to carve out Telangana State. Indeed bifurcation will incur a heavy loss to the successor State, he said. However, he said the Union Cabinet will discuss Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013 being debated in state Assembly. He exuded confidence that the Cabinet will make some amendments to the bill during its meeting, he maintained.
Seemandhra ministers and leaders at the Centre and the State are seriously trying at all stages to stall bifurcation, but the Centre was not yielding, he observed. (NSS)
