Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu today said the Centre was considering the possibilities of increasing the number of Assembly seats in the two Telugu-speaking States of Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to mediapersons at Parliament House, Venkaiah said both the States have demanded increase in Assembly seats from 175 to 225 in Andhra Pradesh and 119 to 175 in Telangana. Responding to their demand, the Centre was in touch with the Union Law Ministry in this regard, Venkaiah Naidu said.
Replying to a query, Venkaiah Naidu said he will be attending Ayutha Chandi Yagam being performed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao. (NSS)
