Centre to bring consensus need on women’s reservation: Venkaiah Naidu

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs M. Venkaiah Naidu said that the Central Government was making efforts to bring consensus on giving reservation to women in legislative bodies.

Addressing women entrepreneurs at a meeting in NCA Kalyana Mandap in Vijayawada on Sunday, he stressed on political empowerment of women through reservation and said that the Centre would try to get consensus on the issue. He also said that women need to prosper economically on par with men. In order to encourage women, the Mudra Bank was providing more loans to women entrepreneurs. He said nearly 10,000 women have been imparted technical training by the Central Government.

The meeting was also addressed by Andhra Pradesh Women Commission Chairman N. Rajkumari and others. (INN)
