New Delhi, August 12: Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Forest Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy on Wednesday stated that the Centre has assured its consent for four irrigation projects in the state.
Talking to reporters after meeting Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh in New Delhi, the Ministers said the state government has sought environmental and forest ministries clearance for 9 irrigation projects, 15 power projects and two aluminium projects.
However, the Central Minister has assured to give clearance for four irrigation projects in a couple of days, the minister stated.
Mr Lakhsmaiah said the decision on remaining projects will be taken up after discussing them with Chief Minister K Rosaiah in Hyderabad on August 19-20.
The Ministers said the Union Minister has responded favourably to proposals and assured to take a decision soon after discussing them with officials concerned.
Minister for Rural Development Vatti Vasant Kumar, Small Scale Industries Minister DK Aruna and Higher Education Minister D Sridhar Babu were also present in the meeting.
