Hyderabad, February 28: Senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya has urged the Centre to put an end to the uncertain atmosphere prevailing in the State by announcing its decision on Telangana formation as there was a constitutional crisis with the government’s functioning coming to a standstill.
At a press conference here on Sunday, he said the executive was fully paralysed since the non-cooperation movement launched by the employees.
Similarly, the legislature was also not functioning. The situation was “extra-ordinary” as the Textiles Minister Shankar Rao himself staged a protest near the Secretariat, he said.
Referring to the slogans raised by Congress MPs and MLAs in Parliament and Assembly respectively for creation of Telangana, he said the ruling Congress was in a state of disarray.
He demanded Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to resign on moral grounds as there was no government in the State.
Mr. Dattatreya demanded that the government ensure that salaries were paid to the employees on March 1 on the basis of registers prepared for January. The BJP leader urged all parties to stage protests in front of the treasury offices if the administration failed to pay the salaries.
