Jammu and Kashmir Association of Parents of Disappeared convener Parveen Hangar has alleged that the Military, paramilitary and Border Security of Force personnel were killing innocent youth, who were fighting for freedom and human rights, in the name of weeding out terrorists.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Parveen alleged that the mafia, supported by the State and Central governments, was also killing the innocent youth in Kashmir Valley. She demanded that the J&K government and the Central forces disclose the whereabouts of their children. She said though they have submitted memoranda several times about their missing children, the State government did not care to respond on the issue so far. Though she had brought the issue at international forums, they did not get justice so far. She made it clear that she would continue her agitation till justice was done.
Babitha, journalist and wife of Hemachandra Pande, who was killed by police along with Maoist party spokesperson Azad, has alleged that her husband was killed in the forests of Andhra Pradesh when he had completed interview of Azad and returning to New Delhi in Nizamuddin Express from Nagpur. She also alleged that the police picked up her husband and Azad from Nagpur and killed them in Wankidi forest in the Adilabad district.
Though they brought the case to notice of the Supreme Court, she lamented that they did not get justice even from the highest court of the land. She said that the people were losing confidence in the courts also in the world’s largest democracy. She demanded that the Union government take stern action against the persons, who were behind her husband Hemachandra Pande and Azad’s fake encounters.
Revolutionary writer Varavara Rao has alleged that the Union government was trying to evict the tribal population from the forests to hand over rich mineral resources to the corporate companies. He also said that the government was killing the tribals just for opposing the projects by dubbing them as Maoists and Maoist sympathizers. He bemoaned that the Centre and State governments were killing their own country men in fake encounters.
Amarula Bandhu Mitrula Sangham president Ganti Prasadam accused the State government of conspiring to disturb their Second State Conference being held on July 18 to 19 at Secunderabad. He said that the conference was named ‘Anti-Green Hunt Operation Meeting’.
