On the appeal made by Confederation of Central Govt. Employees and Workers, more than 80 thousand Central Govt. Employees in the City would protest during lunch hour today. They are demanding the implementation of the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission with effect from 1st January 2014. They are demanding to merge 50% of Dearness Allowance in their basic pay. Free economic policies started in 1991 are posing a threat to these employees.
