Hyderabad, August 04: Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister of A.P. thanked Mr. Kapil Sibal, Union HRD Minister for releasing Rs. 409.77 crore for starting 353 model schools in educationally backward areas. Govt. of A.P. has a plan for establishing six thousand model schools. This grant has been sanctioned to secondary schools society.
It may be noted that during the recently held education fortnight, 1067 high school complexes were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid for 75 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas. At various places in the state, in 500 more high school buildings, construction work was started. During the educational fortnight, Govt. of A.P. spend Rs. 3,500 crore on various educational schemes and programmes. Students were enrolled. Uniforms and text books were supplied to them.
