Census exercise will begin in Haryana from May 1

Sirsa, Apr 20: Census exercise will begin in Haryana from May 1 and it would continue upto June 15.

56,000 enumerators and supervisors have been appointed and trained for the exercise of database collection, Director, Haryana Census Department Neerja Shekhar told media persons after convening a meeting with the district census officials here today.

She said that for the smooth conduct of census exercise, the State has been divided into blocks and enumerators as well as supervisors have been assigned the duties at block and village level.

The census would be done in two phases. In the first phase, listing of houses would be done by enumerators and after that National Population Register would be prepared, she said.
