Censor board should be grilled for clearing film on former PM’s assassins: BJP

Lashing out at the Censor Board, BJP leader Laxmi Kanta Chawla said that an enquiry should be constituted against the Censor Board for clearing a film which glorifies the killers of Indira Gandhi.

“The censor board should be questioned as to how much bribe was given to board for clearing this film,” said Chawla.

Emphasizing that the assassins being referred to as ‘diamonds’ was actually a shame for the country, Chawla said, “I am stunned to hear that they are being referred to as the diamonds of the community.

“There can be no diamond in a community who would kill their Prime Minister. Even animals do not do such jobs. They never kill their master. They have brought shame not only to the community but India in general,” she added.

Chawla also appealed to the government of India to enquire if there is foreign funding that went into the making of this film.

“No person who is supposed to be involved in the security of a person can themselves become killers. Whoever has made this film is suffering from some kind of mental sickness. I would appeal to the government of India if there is some foreign hand and some conspiracy that went into the making of this film,” added Chawla.

The Punjabi film ‘ Kaum De Heere’, slated to be released tomorrow, allegedly portrays the life of the assassins of Indira Gandhi . (ANI)
