There are an ample number of organisations in our city which begin welfare activities with the arrival of the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. ‘Focus’ and ‘Shad-ul-Muslimeen’ are also among them.
According to Maulana Ahsan bin Mohammed Alhamoomi (Tanzeem Rashad-ul-Muslimeen, Forum for Cultural Upgradation and Societal Service (FOCUS) and Tanzeem Rashad-ul-Muslimeen have been organising blood donation camps on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi for the past 4 years. Every year 1700 to 2000 donors donate blood including non-Muslim brothers. Blood camp is also conduced for ladies. The blood collected during the camp is supplied to Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society and other needy people.
Apart from these two, many other organisations also conduct blood donation camps on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi. Some distribute fruits among patients undergoing treatment at government hospitals. Some reach old-age homes and comfort the elderly men and women.
Maulana Ghulam Nabi Shah Naqshbandi and his son Dr. Siraj-ur-Rahman a dental surgeon distribute Islamic literature among non-Muslim police officers, doctors, engineers, scientists, intellectuals and soon.
