BJP Telangana president Dr. K. Laxman said that the Telangana got liberation on September 17 from Nizam of and hence the day should be officially celebrated as Liberation Day.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, the BJP leader said that the TRS before coming to power had demanded that the day be celebrated officially but after coming to power in 2014 it succumbed to the pressures from the MIM and hence ignored the Liberation Day. This is nothing but humiliating the people of the State, he said and demanded that the State government organsie official functions on that day.
Earlier, party activists and leaders took part in the Tiranga Yatra that passed through major thoroughfares of the town. (INN)
