A 14-member team of Election Commission of India reached Hyderabad on Thursday evening to initiate probe into the alleged deletion of thousands of names from the electoral rolls of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
The ECI has sent the team following complaints lodged by Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy and BJP leader Indrasena Reddy before CEC Naseem Zaidi stating that thousands of electors were removed without any valid reason. The team is led by Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal. Two more teams will reach Hyderabad on Friday.
The CEC teams will probe into the allegations for three days and on October 31, they will conduct a meeting with the political parties on the issue. (INN)
