Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir): Ceasefire violations by Pakistan are underway in Manjakot Sector of Rajouri district on Friday. Surrounding villages are being evacuated and the villagers are being moved to safer places in bulletproof vehicles.
Johnny William, DIG of Police stressing on the fact that they have to keep a watch said, “There’s not much to worry but we have to be sensible and responsible.”
Speaking to ANI, a local aged resident said that they had no idea where they will go. “There has been heavy firing since 9 am in the morning. All kinds of bombs are being thrown. Special bullet proof vehicles have been sent for us and we are sending the children,” he added.
Prithipal Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) who was also present there said, “The administration has decided to evacuate the residents of the Boliya village in bullet proof vans and take them to designated safe places. We have four bullet proof bunkers for the purpose. We are giving preference to children, women and old people and evacuating them first.”
Early on Thursday morning Pakistan had resorted to ceasefire violation in Bhimer Gali(BG) sector of Rajouri and in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district. (ANI)
