As part of several measures to strengthen security and check crime, Hyderabad City Police have launched Community CCTV Project for installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across Hyderabad city. The high-definition surveillance cameras are already turning out to be powerful tools making a difference in policing in the Telangana capital city.
A Responsible Corporate citizen, NTPC, a Maharatna power utility and a Government of India Public Sector Enterprise is the first PSU to join hands with Hyderababd City Police in the community CCTV project. The NTPC will enter into an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Office of Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad for installation of CCTV cameras in Old City areas of Hyderabad. An MoU will be signed by NTPC and Hyderabad Police at NTPC Southern Region Headquarters at 11.30 am on April 8, 2016 at 6th Floor Conference Hall at NTPC Bhavan, Old Praga Tools Complex, Kavadiguda, Secunderabad in the presence of M. Mahendar Reddy, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and U.P. Pani, Director (HR), NTPC Limited. V.B. Fadnavis and senior police officials will also be present on the occasion. (NSS)
