City Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy on Tuesday suspended Central Crime Station Inspector Vijay Singh, working as Inspector of Police in CCS Hyderabad City for his misconduct while investigating two cases of alleged cheating and rape relating to incidents that were reported to have occurred between 1998 and 2004 but cases registered during October 2014 and December 2014 respectively based on the complaints received.
The Investigation Officer without conducting any proper investigation into the allegations arrested the alleged accused V.Ravindra, a retired Joint Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, illegally detained and tortured him for motivated reasons in addition to extorting huge sum of money.
The Inspector further forced Ravindra and his friend to register and transfer a property belonging to them in the name of an acquaintance known to the delinquent officer for gain under duress and threat.
