CBSE topper who was rewarded the President’s prize, gang-raped

A 19-year-old college student who was rewarded the President’s prize for topping in CBSE board exams was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in Rewari village of Haryana on Thursday by a group of men. The victim is said to be brilliant in academics. She was also felicitated by the President after she topped the CBSE board exam.

The accused came in a car allegedly kidnapped her and took her to a isolated place where she was gang-raped after being offered a drink laced with sedatives. The report also claims that the accused belong to the same village as that of the victim.

Later she was left her near a bus stop in Kanina by the accused, the victim filed a ‘zero FIR’ following which the probe was being conducted by the Mahendergarh police as the incident occurred in the area under their jurisdiction.

Zero FIR can be filed in any police station, irrespective of place of incident or jurisdiction and the same can be later transferred to the concerned police station.
