Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu called on Union Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sushri Uma Bharti here today.
The Minister requested Naidu to suggest one site from his State to be included in the three pilot projects of water conservation to be taken up by her Ministry. The two other sites selected for this purpose are Bolangir-Kalahandi region in Odisha and Bundelkhand.
The Andhra Chief Minister raised various issues related to his State and requested for the early constitution of Polavaram Development Authority. Naidu assured the Union Minister of his State’s full co-operation in the various projects taken up by the Water Resources Ministry. Naidu also sought centre’s co-operation in making Andhra Pradesh a drought free State in the years to come. Naidu was companied by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and some members of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh. (NSS)
