New Delhi: West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee was summoned to join the ongoing probe into the multi-crore Saradha Chit Fund Scam by the CBI.
Despite the summons, Mr Chatterjee has not appeared before the CBI according to sources, India today reports.
Mr Chatterjee is also the editor of Jago Bangla the mouthpiece of Trinamool Congress.
Decision on issuing fresh summons shall be taken later this evening said the sources.
Several party leaders from the Trinamool Congress party have been named in the Sarada chit fund scam over the past few years.
“This is nothing but politics of revenge,” Partha Chatterjee had told news source earlier, adding “they are trying to malign our party because our supremo has raised her voice against demonetisation, GST, Aadhaar and rightly criticised the BJP government (at the Centre).”
