New Delhi, April 01: BJP today said with the Supreme Court ruling that Bihar government had no authority to challenge Lalu Prasad’s acquittal in a disproportionate assets case, the CBI – which is the prosecutor – should file an appeal in the matter.
BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad maintained that the judgement of the Patna court in the disproportionate assets case against Lalu was “grossly vulnerable in law and a travesty of justice”.
“Since the Supreme Court has rejected right of the Bihar government to file an appeal it is very important that CBI must file an appeal against the original order of a CBI judge in Patna who held that no disproportionate case is made out against Lalu Prasad,” the BJP leader said.
