Hyderabad, April 24: A special court here today posted to April 30 the hearing on the medical report of former chairman of Satyam Computers B Ramalinga Raju and on the CBI’s plea seeking his examination through video-conferencing.
The CBI had requested the court trying the Satyam cases to allow i t examine Raju through video conferencing or any other means after he again failed to appear before the court. Raju, the prime accused in the scam who is suf fering f rom Hepatitis-C, is currently undergoing treatment at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and could not be produced before the court, the Chanchalguda Jail Superintendent informed the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate BVLN Chakravarti.
Meanwhile, the NIMS authorities, have filed a report along with copies of daily case-sheets and medical examinations conducted on Raju since March 31, saying the treatment of Raju needs to be continued as in-patient for another few weeks. The CBI can file a petition on video conferencing after a hearing on the medical report of Raju is conducted on April 30, the judge said. The court also adjourned the matter on examination of Raju and nine other accused for allegations mentioned against them by the CBI in two separate charge-sheets, to April 30 while extending their judicial remand for till the same date.
