CBI seeks foreign courts help in Jagan assets case

The Central Bureau of Investigation have sent Letters Rogatrory (LRs) to foreign countries seeking details about foreign companies and individuals who had allegedly sent money to the companies owned by YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, reports said.

Moreover, the investigation agency is likely to take interpol help to get required details about foreign companies.

An Letters Rogatrory is a request letter to a foreign court to record the statements of certain individuals and to forward the same to the competent CBI court here.

The investigation agency sent notice to countries likes Luxemburg, Mauritius, Dubai, Malaysia, British Virgin Islands and France as it believe that firms and individuals from these countries in various Jagan firms in a quid pro quo consideration favours received from his father and late AP chief minister Y.S. Rassekhara Reddy.

The CBI has been investigating Jagan assets case, has about a month left for the deadline to file a chargesheet in the assets case against Jaganmohan Reddy.

Jagan has been charged with owning certain companies in foreign lands and getting the money routed through such companies into his entities in India.
