Ranchi, November 04: Jharkhand government today sanctioned CBI?s request to prosecute four engineers for corruption charges and ordered their suspension.
CBI had filed an FIR against assistant engineer Sunil Kumar Sinha and junior engineer Rajbali Ram in connection with the bitumen scam, Chief Secretary, A K Singh, told newsmen here.
Sanction was also given to CBI for prosecuting two other assistant engineers, Surendra Prasad and Vindhyachal Singh, after the agency named them in a case, Singh said.
The vigilance department?s request to prosecute a civil supply officer, Manju Kumari, was also sanctioned with and additional direction to initiate departmental enquiry.
Departmental inquiry against all the government officials would be carried out by an IAS officer, V K Choubey.
