CBI registers cases against 76 senior Delhi officials

New Delhi, March 16: The CBI has registered cases against 76 senior Delhi Government officials, including five IAS officers, for their alleged involvement in corruption.

Replying to a question, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said cases were registered against three police officials of DANIPS (Delhi Andaman and Nicobar Island Police Service) cadre.

Apart from them, she said, cases were also registered by the CBI against 67 non-gazetted officials and 43 employees of various local bodies under the city government.

Out the 76 officials against whom cases were registered, 12 belonged to the DANICS (Delhi Andaman and Nicobar Island Civil Service) cadre.

Dikshit said cases were registered by the CBI under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
