CBI raids Chidambaram’s residence, 13 other places in Chennai

Chennai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday raided former Union Minister P Chidambaram’s residence in Chennai.

The raids are currently in progress at 14 other places in Chennai too. According to NDTV, the raids are linked to charges that Chidambaram’s son Karti’s company facilitated clearances for foreign investment to a media company for material compensation.

Slamming the CBI action, Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan said, “The attempt is to grab headlines and create a perception. Why no action for three years?” He accused the Modi government of targeting Chidambaram.
