CBI quizzes Mopidevi for 7 hours over VANPIC

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday grilled Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana for around 7 hours in connection with his role the allotment of 13,000 acres of land in Guntur and Prakasam districts for VANPIC during his stint in YSR Cabinet.

The CBI officials questioned Mopidevi Venkataramana at Dilkusha Guest House along with industrialist and media baron Nimmagadda Prasad, who promoted the VANPIC and senior bureaucrat K V Brahmananda Reddy for his role as special secretary, Ports, Investments and Infrastructure.

Talking to media persons at Dilkusha guest House after CBI quizzing, Mopidevi Venkataramana stated that he was being questioned on allotments of lands to VANPIC.

He said that he gave replies satisfactorily to all questions posed by the CBI and the agency asked him to come on Thursday for further questioning.

The CBI quizzed Mopidevi Venkataramana as the said agreement signed was not in tune with the Cabinet approval.
This is second appearance of Mopidevi before the probing agency which is apparently seeking more clarifications over the VANPIC deal and certain government orders issued by him.

The CBI quizzed Nimmagadda Prasad and K V Brahmananda Reddy for more than 3 hours as part of investigation.
