CBI questions Ponnala for eight hours in Jagan’s assets case

Information Technology Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation at Dilkusha Guest House on Thursday for about eight hours in connection with YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case.

According to sources, the CBI questioned Ponnala Lakshmaiah over the controversial GOs Ms No 146 and 94 issued during 2004-09 when he was the Major Irrigation Minister in the cabinet of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The GOs pertain to supply of water from river Krishna to some cement firms, which in turn made investments in the companies floated by Jagan.

Along with Ponnala Lakshmaiah, the CBI also quizzed former irrigation secretary Aditya Nath Das over the issue of GOs favouring cement companies.

According to sources, the CBI is likely to question Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Aditya Nath Das on Friday too. However, Ponnala did not speak to the media after the CBI questioning.
