Hyderabad, October 28: Former minister and Congress MLA DL Ravindra Reddy today warned that he would wait for another 30 days to file a Public Interest Litigation in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Emaar scam if the state government failed to order a CBI probe into the controversial issue. He, however, exuded confidence that chief minister K Rosaiah would definitely order a CBI probe into the scam. “I am hopeful that the Congress high command will permit me to file a PIL on Emaar scam,’’ he said.
Talking to newsmen on the State Assembly premises, the Mydukur MLA claimed that Union home minister P Chidambaram told him during his visit to Delhi that the Centre was ready to conduct a CBI inquiry into Emaar as well as other issues provided the state government writes a letter in this regard. “Definitely, they are big hands behind Emaar scam which has links even to places like Ernakulam and Kolkata. It is the biggest scam in the state involving more than Rs 10,000 crore. Some forces are behind floating benami companies. We are seeking the CBI probe to expose such forces,’’ he said.
With regard to lands purchased by several politicians in Emaar Properties, Ravindra Reddy found fault with Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu for his ‘failure’ to seek a CBI probe into the scam.
