CBI probe into the Alair encounter demanded

All India Minorities Defence Council formed to protect constitutional and legal rights of minorities and to make effective representation with National Human Rights Commission submitted a memorandum which declared the killing of 5 Muslim youth in Alair encounter as murder. President Defence Council and Secretary General Messrs Osman Shaheed and Alauddin Ansari advocates submitted the memorandum to the commission. They demanded that the State Government order a CBI probe or by a sitting High Court Judge.

The memorandum cited the Supreme Court verdict of 2012 in the Om Prakash versus State of Jharkhand case, in which the Supreme Court had warned the policemen that “it is not the duty of police officers to kill,” even dreaded criminals.

The delegation appealed speedy action to resolve the problems of Muslims.
