Hyderabad, December 17: The Andhra Pradesh High Court allowed the CBI to probe the alleged iron ore mining irregularities in the state and in neighbouring Karnataka.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru and Justice Vilas V Afzalpurkar, while vacating an earlier stay, gave the green signal to the Central agency to go ahead with the investigation.
The CBI, in its petition, had requested the court to allow it to inquire into the allegations of illegal mining of iron ore being carried out by Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), AMC, BIOP and three other firms on the AP-Karnataka border areas of Bellary and Anantapur districts.
