Prohibition and Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana was grilled by the Central Bureau of Investigation for about four hours on Tuesday with regard to allotment of land for Vanpic project.
Venkata Ramana and a few other officials including senior IAS officer Manmohan Singh were questioned by the CBI at Dilkusha Guest House in connection with Vanpic, promoted by industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad. Later, talking to reporters, Mopidevi said that he was summoned by the CBI as a witness in the case. However, he did not reveal the questions that were asked to him by the CBI.
Mopidevi said that the CBI wanted to know whether the decision related to Vanpic project were taken on individual basis or were cabinet decisions.
