Hyderabad, April 20: The CBI today registered a criminal case against the Chief Executive Officer and five officials of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) here besides two private builders over allegations of unauthorised constructions in the Cantonment area.
The CBI registered the case under section 409 (Criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of IPC and different provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Deputy Inspector General of Police (CBI Hyderabad Zone) V V Lakshmi Narayana said.
The case was registered against SCB Chief Executive Officer C Ravindra, five engineers and two private builders and other unknown persons, he said adding the agency conducted searches at as many as nine places including the SCB office here and seized several incriminating documents.
The Secunderabad Cantonment Board which is responsible for carrying out the civic amenities at the residents of the Cantonment area, comes under the purview of the Defence Ministry. The case is under further investigation.
