Hyderabad, June 04: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)is learnt to have briefed Chief Minister K Rosahiah about its probe into the Ajmer Shareef and Mecca Masjid bomb blasts.
CBI Director Ashwani Kumar met the Chief Minister for over half an hour today.
The accused in the Ajmer Shareef blast case are being brought to Hyderabad shortly as part of the investigation into the Mecca Masjid blast case.
Sources told Media that Ashwani Kumar, who was in Hyderabad for a function at the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Police Academy, is understood to have briefed Rosaiah about the possible link between the two bomb blasts.
The accused arrested in connection with the Ajmer Shareef blasts are being brought to Hyderabad from Rajasthan in the next few days to ferret out persons who provided the logistics.
Besides, the CBI chief is also learnt to have briefed the chief ninister on various aspects that went into the investigation into the Bell-430 helicopter crash that killed YS Rajasekhara Reddy last year.
When contacted, CBI spokesperson Harsh Bhal said he was “not aware’’ of the “purpose’’ of the meeting between the chief minister and the CBI Director.
