Rewari (Haryana), December 22: CBI today began its probe against nine persons, including a former DSP, accused in a custodial death case, officials said.
Five police personnel, a sub divisional Magistrate and three medical officers of local civil hospital have been booked in connection with the custodial death of Chhaju Ram, which took place here on July 14, 2005.
A CBI team, which has come here for the second time in the past few weeks, will stay here for four-five days, the officials said.
The accused were booked following a recent Punjab and Haryana High Court order issued on a petition filed by Khillo Devi, wife of the victim.
The court had also directed a CBI probe into the matter.
