Mumbai, October 28: The CBI today arrested two more persons in connection with the disproportionate assets case registered against Nagpur Income Tax Commissioner Ajoy Kumar Singh and his wife, officials said here.
“Singh’s sister Shanti Kumari and her husband Subhash Chandra have been arrested from Hyderabad and would be produced in a special court in Mumbai later,” CBI Superintendent of Police Abhin Modak said.
The CBI had on Sunday arrested an Income Tax commissioner from Nagpur and his wife for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to their known source of income to the tune of Rs four crore.
While Singh was arrested from Mumbai airport, his wife Mrunalika Singh was arrested from their residence in Nagpur.
According to CBI officials, Singh had allegedly registered a lot of property under the name of his sister and brother-in-law.
