CBI arrests suspended Noida chief engineer Yadav Singh in corruption case

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested former Chief Engineer Noida Authorities Yadav Singh in relation with a corruption case.

“The CBI has today arrested then Chief Engineer Noida Authorities in an ongoing investigation of a case for allegedly abusing his official position in awarding contracts and causing wrongful loss to the government exchequer. He will be produced in the designate court Ghaziabad tomorrow,” R.K. Gaur, Press Information Officer of CBI told the media here.

The agency had today summoned Singh for questioning in Disproportionate Assets case.

The CBI has been probing corruption allegations against the tainted engineer and his family members since August 4, 2015 following an order of the Allahabad high court.

The CBI had in August 2015 lodged an FIR against Singh over allegations of corruption in allotting the Rs 954.38-crore project to private agencies in December 2011.

The agency in December, last year had taken Ramendra, Assistant Project Engineer into custody in connection with corruption cases involving Yadav Singh.
